Copaiba balsam oil is derived from copaiba resin. This tree can grow over 30 meters in height and can be found in South America. Copaiba balsam oil is widely used in cosmetic products including soaps, creams, lotions and perfumes due to its health benefits. Since the 16th century, the oil has been and still is used in traditional health practices by the natives of northern and northeastern Brazil.
Similar to black pepper essential oil, copaiba as a carrier oil can help alleviate feelings of anxiety and can also be applied to the skin to promote a clear, smooth complexion.
