Cupuaçu is a tropical tree native to the Amazon rainforest. It is related to cocoa, the tree from which cocoa beans are extracted, and produces large and heavy oval fruits. Cupuaçu butter is made by cold pressing the seeds of the fruit, making a rich butter. Cupuaçu butter is a soft and nourishing emollient that provides a protective and moisturizing layer for the skin and hair.
Butter consists of several beneficial fatty acids. It is also particularly useful as a vegan alternative to animal-derived lanolin and can also be used in our formulas to stabilize emulsions. In Brazil, the pulp of Cupuaçu is also used in the food industry, making excellent chocolates and juices.
